All I do is capture
a vision
“The aesthetic means by which Marihart realises this artistic fabrication of nature are the radiance of her colours and her fast and free broad brushstrokes. Cezanne’s determinedly constructive approach is, however, alien to this artist.”
Dr. Klaus Albrecht Schröder, former director of the Albertina, Vienna
My way of painting is spontaneous and expressive, inspired by the vibrant colours of nature.
The backbone of my monumental paintings is spontaneous and rapid expression. These range from single works to diptychs, triptychs, and four-part cycles.
With radiant colours such as the cold blue of icy water or the warmth of late sunshine, I create an intense impact.
My dynamic art aims not to imitate nature, but to recreate it.

“The virtuosity of this art, the intensity of the colours with their almost dazzling abundance of light and the robust painting that galvanises the viewer, mark out the work of Erni Marihart as one of those major contributions to contemporary art which remain to be discovered in their full complexity.”
Dr. Klaus Albrecht Schröder, former director of the Albertina, Vienna
“My Dobermann Sheila was always with me. After 2 to 3 hours, she would start sneezing, which was my reminder that it was time to take a break, as the concentration of turpentine in the oil-based paint had become too high and thus too dangerous.“
